I Can’t Access My WAEC Certificate- Lagos Commissioner Nominee

One of the Commissioner and Special Adviser nominees in Lagos State, Mrs Abolaji Dada, has confessed that she could not access her West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) result for the ongoing screening exercise by Adhoc Committee set up by the State’s House of Assembly.

Dada, who is a former Executive Secretary Apapa Local Government and also one of the 25 gubernatorial candidates in the 2019 general elections, made this confession yesterday in Lagos when she was drilled on by the Ad-hoc Committee at the Assembly Complex, Alausa, Ikeja., Lagos.

She claimed to have sat for her WAEC exam in 1984, adding that no certificate was issued in the stated year.

“I had my WAEC exam in a government school so I felt it would not be difficult to access it, but I eventually made effort to retrieve my certificate when the need arose but was told that my school’s data was not captured.

“My claim can be verified,1984 WAEC certificate for my school was not accessible,” she said.

Dada canvassed that certain revenue generating functions should be shed off from the state to the local government to enhance the capacity of the councils.

The commissioner nominee, however, noted that if eventually she is posted to head the ministry of education, she would work at restoring civic education in the Primary School curriculum so as to make the pupils patriotic, well behaved and well- mannered individuals in the society.

It is noteworthy that the screening exercise by the 16 man Ad-hoc Committee headed by Hon. Rotimi Abiru yesterday screened nine nominees.

Some of the nominees screened today are: Mrs Akinbile Yusuf, Olalere Odusote, Abolaji Dada, Mr.Segun Daudu, Folashade Omobola Adefisayo, Mrs. Ajibola Kpanle.

Chairman of the committee Hon. Rotimi Abiru said that the last batch of 8 nominees will screened on Saturday.
