Hoodlums Attack  INEC Office In Osun

 Hoodlums suspected to be party loyalists on Sunday stormed the Independent National Electoral Commission office, Ijebu-jesa in Oriade Local Government Area of Osun and attempted to raid electoral materials.

 It was gathered that the hoodlums in numbers attacked the Commission office shooting sporadically at about 3:00 am.

 They were promptly repelled by men of Nigeria Police Force but they succeeded in setting ablaze two power generator kept outside the office and also burnt some empty ballot boxes and mats kept outside.

 However, the situation was brought under control while Osun State Police Command said it was intensifying efforts to bring the culprits to book.

 Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has declared Olufemi Fakeye, the APC candidate for Ila/Ifedayo/Boluwaduro Federal constituency winner in the Saturday election.

INEC returning officer, Prof Paul Ogunjiyagbe returned Fakeye as winner having scored highest votes of 20,371 to defeat his opponent, Hon Clement Akanni who polled 17,247 votes.

Also, the Commission (INEC), has declared Mr Amobi Yunusa Akintola, the All Progressives Congress (APC), candidate for Iwo/Ayedire Olaoluwa Federal constituency winner in the election.

The returning officer Professor Rufus Adesoji Adedoyin from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife declared Amobi winner having polled the highest votes.

Amobi according to Prof Adedoyin polled  29,229 votes againg the PDP candidate, Mr Mudasir Lukman who came second with a total vote of 21,608 and Adiat Olaposi of ADP who polled 17,62 in the third position.

Collation of results in other Federal constituencies and Senatorial District collation centers are ongoing as of the time of filling this report.
