Hoarding: DPR Seals Three Filling Stations In Ogbomoso
The Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, has sealed three fuel stations in Ogbomoso area of Oyo State for hoarding premium motor spirit.
This was disclosed by the Operation Controller of DPR, Ibadan Field Office, Mr Oluyemi Olaonipekun.
The DPR boss in the state further revealed that the filling stations were sealed in Ogbomoso East when officials of the DPR, who were sent to the field, found out they did not sell to consumers.
Though the product is available in Ibadan metropolis, some of the filling stations at the outskirts of the city are trying to hoard it in order to create artificial scarcity.
The DPR stated that sealing up the stations had compelled others who wanted to hoard the commodity to exercise caution.
It was discovered that the stations tried to hoard the product last weekend and some of the stations that have started dispensing it.
He faulted the claim that the Federal Government was trying to increase the pump price of petrol just as he advised Nigerians to desist from panic buying of petrol.
