Gunmen Kill 3 Security Guards In Ondo
Unknown gunmen have killed three security guards in Oba- Ile town in Akure South Localal Government area of Ondo state.
It was gathered that the gruesome murder of three people were carried out by the assailants in the last two days in the area.
The killers, suspected to be hired assailants and cultists were said to have killed their victims who were identified as Security Guards with machete without stealing any valuable from the scenes of the act.
The State Police Public Relations Officer,(PPRO,)Mr.Femi Joseph who confirmed the incident said ,no arrest had been effected .
He said security operatives were now on the trail of the suspected assailants.
While urging residents of Obaile to remain calm, the PPRO advised members of the public with useful information to avail the police to bring the perpetrators of the dastardly act to book as soon as possible.
Joseph who identified the two guards as Sunday and Paul from langtang in Plateau state said the remains of the two men had been deposited at the morgue while investigation has begun into the matter.
He said “policemen on night patrol usually check on the security guards for security alert during their night patrol but when there was no response from the guards, they went into the depot only to discover their dead bodies”
He however confirmed that another security guard, Baba Eze was killed by some armed men on Saturday night at a filling station along the Airport road, but said no arrest was made, while he said the state police command has commenced investigation into the killing .
He said, “We will not relent in our efforts to provide safety to people of Ondo state, we have commenced investigation into the matter and we are on the trail of the assailants.
“We have put some measures in place to apprehend the culprits and bring them to justice”
Joseph however appealed to the public to provide useful information that will help the police to arrest the criminals.
