Girl Allegedly Sets Up Friend For 10-man Gang Rape

The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested a student of a college of technology in the state, Yetunde Kayode, for allegedly tricking her friend into the hands of a 10-man gang of rapists. The culprits allegedly raped the victim as part of the ritual to initiate her into an occult group. Yetunde, who was arrested in Ijero Ekiti few days ago, was accused of specialising in recruiting vulnerable girls for the gang to rape, particularly members of Ave cult.

Also, a man, Olalekan Ezekiel was also apprehended for allegedly dressing like a police officer.

The suspect, arrested Monday on Esure-Awo Road by a police patrol team, reportedly posed as a police inspector.

On interrogation, he confessed that he was not a police officer.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Wilson Inalegwu, who made the disclosure while parading 26 suspects at the state police headquarters in Ado-Ekiti, stated that the police recovered from Ezekiel one unregistered motorcycle, adding that he will be prosecuted soon.

The CP said following the killing of OC MSS of the State Command, Mr. Idowu Taiwo, and one Engr. Kunle Enisan and the kidnap of a Sweden-based Nigerian, Emmanuel Adeleke, his men swiftly extended their tentacles of intelligence gathering to Kano and Kaduna states, where some arrests were made.

He said: “The operatives successfully recovered three phones belonging to the late OC MSS. Also, two phones belonging to the waitresses working at a joint where the late officer was abducted before being killed, were recovered.

“The suspects are helping my men and they will be charged to court soon.”
