Fulani History Of Conquest: Yoruba Youths Chide Labdo

The Yoruba Youth Socio-cultural Association (YYSA) on Sunday took a swipe at Professor Umar Muhammed Labdo over a statement credited to him that only the Yorubas and Igbos that long and eat cow meat, saying he is an educated illiterate.

The association in a statement signed by its national Secretary, Oladele’s Ajao said no reasonable educationists would alter such unguided statement.

The youths described Professor Labdo’s statement as unfortunate, saying only an educated illiterate will make such utterance.

According to the Fulani Professor, “We don’t even eat cow meat. It is the Yoruba and Igbos that can die for meat. We are destined to lead for long.”

The association added that, “We are using this medium to tell Umar Muhammad Labdo that Yoruba can do without eating their cows.

The group enjoined South Western state governments to take cattle rearing as business and order for better breeds from the developed countries.

In order to reduce poverty in the region, the association emphasised that, state governments should embark on animal husbandry business.

According to the group, this would enable the people in the region to buy cows at a very affordable price, assist in the generation of Internally Generated Revenue ( IGR), create employment opportunities for the people and safeguarding their health.

Dwelling on Professor  Labdo ‘Fulani’s destined to rule assertion’, the youths said that Fulani only dominated northerners not Yoruba or southern Nigeria generally.

“In Nigeria history, southern people had led in the past and would continue to lead the country,” they said.
