Five Wedding Guests Die In Ekiti
About five wedding guests, Saturday, lost their lives in a motor accident on the Ikere-Ado Road in Ekiti State. Several others also sustained injuries in the accident.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that the victims were returning from a wedding reception when the tragedy occurred.
An eyewitness said: “The vehicle was speeding and somersaulted several times immediately the driver lost control. I counted at least 10 bodies on the road before the arrival of officials of Federal Road Safety Corps.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti State Command, Caleb Ikechukwu, who confirmed the accident, said it was a lone fatal accident.
He also said the injured persons had been moved to hospital for treatment while the dead to the morgue.
