FG To Announce New Governing Council For Varsities

The Federal Government will next week announce the composition of members of the Governing Councils of all federal universities as tenure of many existing councils will expire in February.
President Muhammadu Buhari made this disclosure during the grand finale of the 49th convocation ceremonies of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka.
The President, who was represented at the event by the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Prof. Adamu Abubakar Rasheed, noted with dismay the corrupt practices on campuses, criticizing the managements of these institutions for their inability to account for the little available resources.
He said the details on the governing council will be announced by the Minister of education.
