FCT residents warned against opening their doors to unverified strangers

The FCT Police Command has warned members of the public to guard against opening their gates to strangers that have not been verified by them.
The warning was contained in a statement by the spokesman of the FCT Police Command, ASP Anjuguri Manzah, on Friday.
Manzah said the Command had observed through available intelligence that some criminal syndicates have deviced a novel means of gaining easy access into people’s residences with criminal intention.
The statement said members of these syndicates. who operate mostly at night, go to the extent of leaving the inner light of their cars on to allay any suspicion from gatemen.
The stamens said the criminals use expensive Jeep and dispossess their victims of cash, jewelleries and phones
Manzah added: “The Police Command enjoins residents to be vigilant and guard against welcoming strangers without first verifying the identity of such persons. Residents should also endeavour to educate their gate-men on the need to always verify before opening the gate to strangers.”
