Falae: Court Sentences Kidnappers To Life Imprisonment
An Ondo State High court sitting in Akure on Monday sentenced to life imprisonment, seven suspected Fulani herdsmen for kidnapping former secretary to the government of the federation, Chief Olu Falae in 2015.
Justice Williams Olamide, in his judgement held that the suspects were guilty of the kidnapping charge brought against them by the ondo state government.
According to him, the recovered Ransom, call logs, and identification of the suspects by Chief Falae indicted them of complicity in the crime.
Justice Olamide subsequently sentenced them to Olokuta prison without an option of fine.
He however discharged them on two of the charges: conspiracy and armed robbery.
Reacting to the judgment, counsel to the suspects, Abdul raham Yusuf expressed regrets at the judgment and hinted of an appeal.
However, the Director of Public Prosecution at the Ondo state Ministry of Justice, Mrs Adesola Adeyemi-Tuki described the judgment as a justice well served.
