Ex-Oyo Commissioner, Iyiola Hammed Bags Chieftaincy Title

Sequel to the promotion of the 31 Baales in Ibadan to second class beaded Obas by the Oyo State government, His Royal Highness, the Onijaye of Ijaye, Oba Lasisi Oladimeji Akano has approved the appointment of the immediate past Oyo State  Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Iyiola Ambali Hammed as the Ekerin Balogun Onijaye of Ijaye land.
The appointment briefing was held on Tuesday, 24 October, 2017 at the Onijaye Palace, Ijaye Orile, Akinyele local government area of Oyo State.
Also, the Ekerin Balogun Onijaye designate will be inaugurated as the Mogaji of Seriki Origitagbokalu on Saturday, 18 November, 2017 at Seriki, Ijaye.
Furthermore, the major installation of chieftaincy title holders holds afterward at the Onijaye Palace.
Hon. Hammed hails from Seriki Origitagbbokalu Dynasty, popularly called Seriki area of Ijaye and holds several religious and honorary chieftaincy titles.
Born on Sunday, 4 January, 1959, he attended Ijaye High School, Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi and University of Ibadan where he studied Agric and Bio-resources engineering and Laboratory Technology respectively.
The erstwhile Oyo State Commissioner for Agric, Hammed is an astute politician who has held several political offices.
His political stewardship includes Oyo State House of Assembly membership, (1999-2003) Chairman, Caretaker Committee, Akinyele Local Government (2011-2012) and Oyo State Commissioner for Agric (2014-2015) among others.
