Etisalat unveils top 10 entries for Prize for Innovation

Nigeria’s most innovative telecommunications network, Etisalat, has revealed the top 10 entries for the 2016 edition of the Etisalat Prize for Innovation.
The 10 outstanding entries comprises of the two categories – five Most Innovative Product/Services and five Most Innovative Idea.
The lucky contestants, drawn from the Most Innovative Product and Services Category, are Adegoke Olubusi (OneMedical), Ugochukwu Nwosu (GetJama), Michael Onuorah (Nibule), Funke Talabi (City Hires Nigeria) and Samwul Datong (Recit E-receipt Platform).
The top contestant selected from the Most Innovative Idea Category are Okwunna Olive-Okafor (SmartGuard), Emmanuel Gideon (SmartOffice), Tobilola Ajibola (Dresses by Aloli), Peter Oriabure (FarmIntell), and Francis Eluaka (Juris Court Reporting Software).
The 10 contestants will pitch their products/services and ideas before a panel to compete for the grand prize.
The Top 10 will also attend an entrepreneurial programme at the Enterprise Development Centre of the Pan Atlantic University.
Prizes will be awarded to the winners at the Award ceremony.
The winner of the Most Innovative Product/Services will receive N5 million, while the winner of the Most Innovative Idea will receive N2 million.
The Etisalat Prize for Innovation was launched in 2012 to reward innovative ideas and products that can drive mobile broadband utilization.
The Prize also extends the conversation on the revolutionary impact of innovation and technology as it addresses social challenges in the country.
Through the Prize, Etisalat has produced a number of young creative Nigerian entrepreneurs by giving them the opportunity to showcase innovative products, services and ideas that address specific problems in the society and contribute to the nation’s socio-economic growth.
