El Zakzaky: We Are Not Placated – IMN

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria Sunday said it was not placated by the appearance of its detained leader, Sheikh Ibrahim El Zakzaky before select journalists in Abuja on Saturday, adding that anything short of his total freedom in line with court ruling is unacceptable to them.

Following rumours that the Shiite leader who has been in detention for over two year had died in custody, the Department of State Services, DSS granted à rare access to some select journalists for one minute twenty seconds as a proof that he was alive.

But in a statement made available to newsmen in Kaduna Sunday the group said the limited access granted to some journalists “falls very short of expectations of his total and unconditional freedom as ordered by the Federal High Court Abuja”.

The statement, signed by Ibrahim Musa, the president of the Media Forum of the Movement noted that it will not be fooled by the ‘antics” of government.

The statement added that despite the access to, it will continue with its peaceful protests until their leader released.
