Ekiti Leads Other States In 2026 IGR Target Achievement, Records 98.1% Performance
Ekiti State has emerged as the leading state in the country in the achievement of its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target, recording 98.1 per cent performance as at September 2026.
According to the State Budget Implementation Reports for the third quarter of 2026, Ekiti ranked first among the eight states that achieved at least 75 per cent of their budgeted IGR targets out of the 32 states assessed.
Delta and Kogi States followed with 96.1 per cent and 92.2 per cent performance respectively.
The latest performance represents another milestone in the state’s fiscal management efforts, coming on the heels of a sustained increase in revenue generation, with Ekiti’s IGR recording over 60 per cent growth in the last one year.
The development reflects the ongoing efforts of the Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji administration to strengthen the state’s revenue base, improve fiscal discipline and enhance its capacity to fund development priorities.
The administration’s fiscal policies remain anchored on the shared prosperity agenda, with emphasis on sustainable revenue generation, prudent resource management and improved service delivery to the people.
