OGSG Harps On Commitment To Improve Education Standard

Ogun State Government is committed to improving the standard of education by leaving no stone unturned at ensuring that the education sector takes it rightful position among other States.
The Permanent Secretary, Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Mrs. Mojisola Dosunmu stated this during unscheduled visits to teaching and non-teaching staff of public secondary schools in Egba Zone of the State, ahead resumption of the new academic session.
Mrs. Dosumu, who led Directors and officials of the Commission, stated that the essence of the visits was to observe the level of preparedness for the new academic session and encouraged teachers to brace up for the new activities before resumption date, stressing that the exercise would enhance quality service delivery in the classrooms, in line with the present administration’s policy on qualitative education.
She said it was imperative for teachers to adequately prepare their lesson plans and notes for the new session for them to be able to impart knowledge to their students.
While charging the N-power teaching staff to be more committed and diligent in the delivery of their duty, as the Governor was interested in their activities, Dosunmu, said the visit was also meant to gear them up for the new session, advising that their efficiency in the classroom should begin with loyalty, punctuality and dedication to work.
Speaking with journalists, the Principal, Salawu Abiola Comprehensive High School, Osiele, Mr. Lawal Isiaka, expressed his surprise at the visit, saying it was a welcome development, appreciating Government for the approval of 2016 and 2017 promotion, as it would go a long way in boosting the morale of teachers in the State.
Also, the Principal, Orile-Keesi Grammar School, Olodo, applauded the State Governor for his kind gesture, appealing for renovation of dilapidated structures in schools for easy assimilation and conducive learning environment for both teachers and students.
Schools visited included, Nawar-U-Deen Junior and Senior Schools, Obantoko, Muslim High School, Isolu-Alabata, Alabata Comprehensive High School, Alabata, Salawu Abiola Comprehensive High School, Osiele, Egba-Odeda High School, Odeda, Orile-Ilugun Comprehensive High School, Orile-Ilugun and Orile-Keesi Grammar Schools.
