Ebonyi Police Arrest Fake Officer
The Ebonyi State Police Command has arrested one Enyi Friday, who has been parading himself as a police officer.
It was gathered that the suspect, Friday, was nabbed on Saturday at Umunwagu village, in the Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, where he has been parading as an operative of the Force.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Chris Anyanwu, stated this in a statement, on Sunday, saying his arrest was consequent upon information by a commander of the Ebubeagu Security Network in the area, Anyigor Lazarus.
It was learnt that the suspect was arrested while in police uniform.
The statement read, “The Ebonyi State Police Command on Saturday 3/7/2022 at about 1046hrs through a coordinated effort with Anyigor Lazarus, the Commander of Ebubeagu Security outfit in Ezza South LGA, apprehended Enyi Friday, who hails from Umunwagu Idembia in Ezza South LGA of Ebonyi State for impersonation. The young man, who is not a police officer, was caught wearing the uniform of a Police Corporal, hence his arrest.
“The suspect has been handed over to the State Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.
“The general public is hereby requested to continue to partner with the Police in Ebonyi State in a bid to rid our communities of criminal elements, please.”
