Don’t Patronize Touts For Visa Procurement, PSFU Warns
The Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU) has warned the general public to desist from patronizing unauthorized agents whose stock in trade is to produce fake documents for procurement of visa.
The unit, which is known to be the highest investigation outfit in the police force, working in collaboration with the other fraud institutions in the World, headed by Ibrahim Lamorde, a Commissioner of Police said, “It is illegal to patronize touts for visa procurement”.
The PSFU, at an interactive session with journalists in Ikoyi office, Lagos, warned that anyone caught will be prosecuted.
According to the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Audu Lawal Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), the units have received many reports of cases from Embassy and High Commission on visa procurement.
The Embassy Liaison officer of the Unit, said “From January till date, we have prosecuted an average of fifteen people and we received more than fifty passports every month from the Italian Embassy for investigation as result of fake documents by the applicants to procure visa.”
