I will End Ede, Osogbo Communities Dispute -Adeleke
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming Osun state governorship election, Senator Ademola Adeleke on Tuesday assured that he will ensure that all contentious issues between the Ede and Osogbo communities are amicably resolved if elected the governor of the state.
Speaking Tuesday when he paid an unscheduled homage to the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun in his palace, Adeleke said he would make fair play his guiding rule in allocation of resources.
He extolled Oba Olanipekun for the rapid progress Osogbo witnessed since he assumed the throne and also gave progress report, he has made so far since he joined governorship race.
His words: “Kabiyesi, I am humbled that though our visit was an impromptu one, you welcomed us with an open arm. Osogbo has been very receptive and that is why I feel very much at home whenever I am here.
“Osogbo has recorded tremendous progress under your reign and as one of your numerous son’s, we are really proud of you. I am here to personally inform you and seek your royal blessing for the task of rescuing our dear state.”
The senator representing Osun west district emphasised that his purpose of seeking the governorship seat is to correct the anomalies of the present government and consolidate on its worthwhile projects.
Responding, Oba Olanipekun noted that he was not unaware of the numerous philanthropic gestures of the governorship hopeful and the antecedents of the Adeleke family in the state.
He said royal fathers are concerned about leadership that would transform the lives of the people and are not expected to be partisan adding however that it is the responsibility of God to enthrone
“The antecedents of your family are good and relishing and if it is the wish of God, your current political pursuit will materialize. But you should ensure fairness to Osogbo if you get there because we are capital of the state,” Oba Olanipekun said.
