Deaconess Deborah Akogun (JP) Moves On Despite Misfortune

For Deaconess Deborah Monisola Akogun (JP), life has not been all rosy, but one’s ability to overcome challenges is what makes one a winner.

 Deaconess Akogun, a native of Ipetu Ijesha in Osun state is the owner of the gigantic ‘House 4 Unique Hotel’, located in the serenity of Gbagada.

The hotel is patronized by society’s socialites and top government officials who see the resort as cool and comfortable.

What many may not know is that the woman went through difficult challenges before she could erect such a magnificent edifice.

 “While I was teaching, I was a food vendor. That was how I got the experience as a hotelier, so when I retired from teaching after 35 years, it was not difficult for me to blend into the business.

“However, in 2015, the first place I built as a guest house (Ola Olu Guest House), got burnt by a newly married groom who lodged there, but to God be the glory, I did not let that discourage me. I moved on, and here I am today.”

The philanthropist, who is also the Matron of Association of Yoruba Media Presenters of Nigeria (Egbe Apede), will go on to advise the association that is presently being led by Olaitan Oladele (President), Adeola Fase (Vice President) and Olaide Gold (as the secretary), to enhance the Yoruba culture in the association as this will have a ripple effect on the Yoruba culture globally.
