Customs In Oyo State Generates N23b In Seven Months
The Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service NCS has generated N23,878,395,911.8k between January to July, 2019.
The Area Comptroller, Abdullahi Zulikifli while briefing newsmen in Ibadan on Wednesday said the revenue surpassed the total of revenue generated in the year 2018 amounting to N2.2billions adding that the command recorded 7,951 seized items between the first and second quarter of this year.
He disclosed that 90 cars, 3,252 bags of 50kg Imported Parboiled rice, 319 pieces of 25litres keg of Vegetable Oil and other contraband good from smugglers in the first and second quarter of the year 2019.
Zulikflu also revealed that the command with the assistance of sister security agencies has also been able to seize 36 bails of second hand clothing, 61 pieces of used tyres, and the total of 6 pieces of Tokunbo cars including a Toyota Highlander, Toyota sequodia, and others adding that 35 suspects have been arrested with 5 cases already in court.
