Court Arraign Man Over Alleged Assault, Breach Of Public Peace
A middle aged man, Suberu Mohammed, Wednesday appeared before an Osun State Magistrates’ Court over alleged assault and breach of public peace.
The Prosecutor, Insp Ona Glory, told the court that the suspect committed the offence on June 6, 2018 around 1:00 pm at Gbalefefe area, Modakeke, in Ife Northeast local government area of Osun.
Glory said that the accused did assault one Umaru Adamu by beating him and stabbing him with knife, which caused him injuries on his face.
He added that the accused conducted himself in a manner that caused pandemonium in the area.
According to him, the offence contravened sections 252, 249(d), 351 and 355 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2003.
The suspect who had no legal representation however pleaded not guilty to three-count charge of assault, public fight and breach of public peace.
Magistrate A.O. Famuyide, granted the bail of the accused in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum as she adjourned the case until July 14, for mention.
