Court Remands Two Over Assault In Osun
An Osun State Magistrates’ court sitting in Ile-Ife on Thursday, remanded one Joseph Olatunji, (34) and Akeju Daniel, (21), over alleged assault occasioning harm and malicious damage.
Osanyintuyi said that the defendants unlawfully inflicted injury on one Osupala Daniel by using a sharp objects to stab him on his left eye.
He added that the defendants on March 9, 2022 around 08:30 am at Agbala Daniel Area, Ile-Ife, unlawfully and maliciously damaged the following item: Bournvita, tables and chairs, total valued N15,000, property of Osupala Elizabeth.
According to him, the offence contravened sections:355 and 458 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun.
The defendants, who were not legally represented, however, pleaded not guilty to two count charges of: assault occasioning harm and malicious damage.
Magistrate Olusola Aluko did not grant the bail of the defendants, but ordered for their remand in Ile-Ife Nigerian Correctional centre as she adjourned the case until  March 14, for ruling.
