Court Sentences Two Men For Conspiracy, Stealing
An Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife on Tuesday sentenced 40-year-old, Daniel Sunday and ThankGod Williams, (30) to Correctional Custody for one month each for conspiracy and stealing of 10kg of cocoa beans valued N10,000.
She however also gave them an option of N5,000 each when she observed that the convicts showed sign of remorse
Sunday and Williams faced a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Abdullahi Emmanuel, told the court that Sunday and Williams and others now still at  large, committed the offence on Jan 9, 2021 around 12:00 pm at Ita-Osa area, Ondo Road, Ile-Ife.
Emmanuel said that they conspired among themselves to unlawfully being in possession of 10kg of Cocoa beans valued N10,000 which they cannot give satisfactory account of how they came about it.
He added that the offence contravened sections 430 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
