Court Remands Cultist For Alleged Murder
An Osun State Magistrate court sitting in Osogbo has ordered the remand of 25-years-old Agbebunmi Biodun for alleged murder.
Elisha informed the court that the accused person did unlawfully shot one Adesoye Adekunle to death with a gun.
He further alleged that the Agbebunmi did armed himself with guns and other dangerous weapons and rob one Fadipe Abayomi of two bottles of Hennessy drink valued #24,000:00k and cash sum of #18,000:00.
He stated further that the defendant on 18th of May, 2020 at about 1:00 pm in Ede did conspire among themselves being a member of the unlawful society and engage himself in a secret cult known as Eiye Confraternity cult group.
The offence committed was contrary to and punishable under Section 6(b), punishable under section 1(1)(2)(a)(b) of the Robbery and Firearms ( Special Provisions) Act Cap RI vol. 14 Laws of Federation of Nigeria, 2004 and Section 324, 319(1) and 64(a) of the Criminal Code Cap. 34 Vol. ll Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.
The defendant who was represented by his Counsel, Kehinde Adepoju was however not taken by the court
The Magistrate, Olubunmi Ajanaku ordered the remand of the defendant in Ilesa Correctional Center as she adjourned the matter till 21st of July, 2020, and transferred the case to Ilesa Magistrate court for mention.
