35 Years-Old Cook Admits Raping 13Year-Old Girl
A 35 year-old Cook, Pius Ochang, Friday, admitted raping and defiling a 13 year-old girl (name withheld) before an Ebute-metta Chief Magistrate’s Court, Lagos.
The cook, a native of Boki in Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross-Rivers State, was arraigned before Chief Magistrate on a count charge bordering on having unlawful carnal knowledge of the minor.
The defendant in his confessional statement to the police said ‘I have fun with the girl but I didn’t sleep with her’.
The police in a charge marked D/108/2018, alleged that the cook committed the offence at about 11 a.m., December 21, 2018, at his residence located at Agbara Jesu Street, Oworonsoki, Lagos.
The offence according to the police is contrary to and punishable under section 137 of the criminal laws of Lagos State, 2015.
During his arraignment on Friday before the court, the cook pleaded guilty to the offence.
Following his guilty plea, Chief Magistrate Adedayo A. O. adjourned the matter till February 2, 2019, for review of facts and possible sentence.
Chief Magistrate Adedayo, while ordered the defendant to be remanded in prison custody pending the next adjourned date, also ordered the police to duplicate the case file and forward to Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
