Christian, Muslim Night Of Praise In Ijebu
Unprecedented history was made recently in Ijebu Ode, with a maiden concert themed ‘Ijebu Praise Concert’ .
The concert, which was powered by Hon. Kehinde Odeneye, member, Federal House of Rep. Ijebu –Ode/ Odogbolu/Ijebu North-East Federal Constituency, Ogun State, witnessed the highest number of Muslim and gospel collabo ever in the history of the state.
Held at at Dipo Dina Memorial Stadium, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, gospel artistes like Lanre Teriba Esther Igbekele, Bola Obi, Princess Ifemide, Funmi Sennaike, Yetunde Are, Bukola Akinade (Sewele Jesu), Sola Igbayiloye, CAN choir and their Muslim counterparts like Iya N Saudi, Alawiye, Mutiu Islamic choir brought out their best to the admiration of the attendees.
Those in attendance at the packed venue of the event yearned for more with some of the artistes appealing to Hon. Odeneye to make the event an annual one.
Lanre Teriba aka Atorishe commenting on the aftermath of the event said: “It is an honor to be part of this history making event. How I wish the time could be extended.”
The convener of the event, Hon. Odeneye, who is also commonly known as OK, told newsmen after the praise festival “ I have said this many times, the purpose of the gathering is not for any political purpose but to unite all Nigerians through worship and praise to thank God for keeping us till now.
“You all witnessed what happened here, we give God the glory. We serve one God, and I believe this will help curb religious crises.That is why we have gospel musicians from both Christian and Muslim religions, and I can tell you that this is the first time such a thing will happen in this country. We also gave out souvenirs to people as you all witnessed.”
