Buhari Wins In 15 LGs To Defeat Atiku In Lagos

President Muhammadu Buhari has won the Presidential election in Lagos State, by defeating his rival, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in fifteen out of twenty Local Government Areas with a 132,798 vote margin.
The Chief Collation Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) Professor Felix Salako, in Yaba area of Lagos on Monday Buhari polled 580,825 votes to beat Atiku, who polled 448,015 votes in keenly contested election.
While Buhari won in 15 Local Government Areas of Lagos, Atiku won in five councils, heavily populated by South East residents.
Salako said the number of registered voters stood at 6,313,507, accredited voters 1, 096,490, total valid votes 1,089,567, total votes casted 1,156,590, Rejected votes 67,023.

It would be recalled the margin with which Buhari won the state is lower than the 160,143 votes with which he defeated Jonathan in 2015 in the state.
Buhari then polled 792,460 votes, while Jonathan got 632,327.
