Buhari, Oshiomhole, Others Welcome Mu’azu, Yuguda To APC

President Muhammadu Buhari and All Progressives Congress, APC party executives have welcomed defectors from the main opposition, People’s Democratic Party, PDP back to its fold in a ceremony held in their honour.

Eighteen defectors, among whom include; 2 former governors of Bauchi state, Adamu Mu’azu and Isa Yuguda, former deputy governor Abdulmalik Mahmud and former PDP chieftain, Babayo Garba Gamawa, were received by the President

Speaking in Bauchi on Saturday, President Buhari said his government has achieved a lot in the areas of security, economy and anti-corruption.

He welcomed the defectors while pleading with them to work for the success of the Party at the polls.

“Since my political career, Bauchi State has always stood with me by voting massively for me at every turn of my political endeavour. I thank you very much for your support, and plead with you to support me again.

“My government has fought corruption, improved the economy and secured the lives of Nigerians. I welcome all defectors and urge them to work for the success of our party in the forthcoming elections” the President said.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Isa Yuguda said “We are happy to join the APC party after seeing all the progress the party has recorded in the last 3 and half years. We will mobilize massively for the re-election of the President and the Governor of our State”.

Welcoming the defectors, the National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole thanked the defectors and chided Atiku and the PDP over their alleged plan to sell NNPC, saying that “Atiku and PDP will sell NNPC the way the sold NITEL and Nigerian Airways”.
