Bayern Munich Train In Snow For Liverpool

Bayern Munich trained in the snow Monday as they aim to put a freeze on Liverpool’s Champions League aspirations.

The two European heavyweights are set to meet at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday evening with the tie on a knife-edge following the goalless draw at Anfield in the first leg.

Bayern tweeted a video of snow falling at their Sabener Strasse training base early on Monday morning, with the whole complex well and truly covered in the white stuff.

However, the Bayern squad, were still able to hold their training session as planned with one of the pitches being completely cleared of snow by the time the players arrived.

The snow continued to fall in flurries, however, and the thousands of Liverpool fans travelling out to Bavaria in the next couple of days would be advised to pack warm clothing.

Temperatures will reach a low of 4C on Wednesday but there could be a considerable wind chill factor making it feel much colder at kick-off.

Bayern reported that Thomas Muller missed Monday’s training session because of family reasons, while Arjen Robben and Corentin Tolisso were also absent.
Star striker Robert Lewandowski trained individually in the gym and was spared the cold.

Bayern come into the Liverpool match brimming with confidence after snatching the Bundesliga lead from rivals Borussia Dortmund with a 6-0 thrashing of Wolfsburg on Saturday.

Lewandowski scored twice to become the Bundesliga’s all-time top-scoring foreign player with 197.

Bayern and Dortmund are both tied on 57 points at the top of the table after 25 matches. There are nine rounds of the season remaining.

Liverpool also come into the second leg in high spirits following their 4-2 win over Burnley on Sunday afternoon. They moved back to within one point of Premier League leaders Manchester City as they chase their first league title since 1990.
