Atiku Commiserates With Benue Govt. Over Zaki-Biam Attack

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the Zege Mule U Tiv, has commiserated with the people of Zaki-Biam in Ukum Local Government Area, the Tiv people and the Government and people of Benue State over the recent attacks by yet to be identified gun men in which precious lives were lost.
The Zege Mule, who feels personally pained by continued violent acts against innocent people in Tiv land and other parts of the country, reiterated the need for more harmonious living amongst Nigerians who must see themselves as their brothers’ keepers.
Atiku Abubakar, in a statement by his media office, also uses the opportunity to call on security agencies and their managers to step up to their responsibilities and ensure that the perpetrators of these wicked and inhuman acts are brought to book.
The Zege Mule, who holds the highest traditional title by a non Tiv amongst the Tiv people, also lamented the recent crises in Buruku and its environs, as he described the perpetrators of the heinous acts as brigands who must be brought to justice.

Atiku noted that only a few weeks ago, Nigerians from all parts had converged on the city of Gboko to witness the coronation of Tor Tiv The 5th, HRH Professor James Ayatse where everyone had only good wishes for the great Tiv Nation.

He further expresses dismay that only a few weeks afterwards crises purportedly involving the Fulani and The Tiv erupted in Buruku. Whilst calling for all leaders of thought, traditional and political to come together to chart a part to peace in this recurring sad tales, he urges the security agencies to improve in their observation of the movement of people and goods to enhance the needed security watch.
