Assembly Summons Former Governor

The Kebbi State House of Assembly has again summoned the immediate past governor of Kebbi State,  Alhaji Saidu Usman Nasamu  Dakingari to appear before the House on allegation of misappropriation of funds.

The State House of Assembly gave the former governor a date of 23rd of May, 2017 by 10:15 to appear before it.

It warned “Failure to do so, the House shall be left with the last option.”

A notice signed by the Clerk to the House, Alhaji Umaru Buhari said “The former governor was invited by the House to answer questions in connection with the allegations of misappropriation of public funds during the upgrading of the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport in Birnin Kebbi”.

It would be recalled that the legislators gave the immediate past governor up to three weeks last month to appear before it to explain his role in the N6.4 billion airport contracts that was allegedly inflated to  N18 billion.

It added that even though Dakingari was invited to appear before the House on 17 May, 2017 several attempts were made to serve him with an invitation personally. “It is clear that the former governor is evading being served with the notice, it said.
