Army urges FCT residents not to panic over route march

The Army Headquarters Garrison has called on FCT residents not to panic as it conducts its monthly route march on Friday in the territory from 6am to 8am.
A statement issued by the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Aminu Iliyasu, in Abuja on Wednesday, said the march would begin from the Aguyi Ironsi Cantonment and proceed through Niger barracks, to Mambilla barracks and back to the cantonment.
The statement said: “The general public, especially those residing in the Abuja and its environs, is advised not to panic over troops’ movement.”
According to the statement, the march is mandatory for all personnel of the Nigerian Army serving in the FCT.
The statement added that the exercise is aimed at testing the physical fitness and endurance of the troops.
