Our Alliance To Liberate Nigerians – AAC, PRP Faction
The African Action Congress and a faction of the Peoples Redemption Party said they were forming an alliance to liberate millions of Nigerians from the “shackles of corrupt and greedy politicians who have held the country hostage for several years.”
The National Chairman and presidential candidate of the AAC, Omoyele Sowore, disclosed this on Monday at a press conference to formalise the union between the his party and the PRP faction, in Abuja.
Sowore said the essence of the alliance was to overthrow and take down the evil system of oppression and injustice in Nigeria and put an end to the reign of deceit that had enslaved Nigerians since independence.
According to Sowore, Today (Monday), these two political parties, the oldest revolutionary party – the PRP and youngest party – the AAC in the country are forming an alliance to overthrow and take down evil system of oppression in Nigeria
“The AAC was the first political party founded by young people. I mean radical elements in Nigeria. It is the first political party in recent history that called for a revolution in Nigeria and carried out that master plan in about thirty (30) cities in 2019,” Sowore said.
He said the two parties had many things in common as they “suffered the same fate in the hands of reactionary elements who infiltrated their ranks.”
“So the same thing that happened to the PRP also happened to us . At one point, the PRP was hijacked by reactionary elements. Also in 2019, the AAC was hijacked by reactionary elements. We are forming an alliance with the original, authentic and undiluted PRP today.”
He maintained that there was no faction in the PRP adding that those who were laying claim to be the faction were the overflow of the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress.
Sowore said there was no difference between the APC, the PDP, the Labour Party and the New Nigeria Peoples Party, saying they were all created by the “frustrated politicians who defected from the PDP.”
He said the AAC and the PRP shared the same radical and revolutionary ideology that would end injustice, oppression, insecurity, bad governance and corruption in the country.
On his own part, the factional National Chairman of the PRP, Abdulmajid Daudu, called on other left-oriented political parties to join the alliance to bring hope for the Nigerian people.
Abdulmajid said the alliance was aimed to defeat the reactionary elites who had allegedly continued to impoverish and inflict hardship on the citizens. He added that the union would unite the country irrespective of religion and ethnic affiliations.
He said, “We are both left-oriented political parties. We believe that fundamental human rights of Nigerians must be respected in line with the Constitution.
“The two political parties are coming together today in order to bring hope to the Nigerian people. We are calling on the left-oriented movement to come under this alliance so that we can defeat these revolutionary elites.
“This is just the beginning of the alliance and we are formalising it now. Hopefully the formalisation and alliance programmes and procedures will continue subsequently. I hope this will be a great hope for Nigerian people and the youths and this will be the end of hardship Nigerians are going through.
“For 20 years, Nigeria has been (about) the same set of people ruling the country that has not yielded anything good.
“This alliance is the beginning of a process of networking, mobilising and organising of Nigerian masses to defeat these criminals in government and it will go down to the lowest level of government.
“It will go to our comrades in the farms, markets, schools so that we can defeat these organisations that have held us hostage all these years.
“The Nigerian people have to wake up. No messiah is coming to do it for us. We have to do it by ourselves and no other time than now. We are ready and we are going to lead the struggle. We are not ready to back out and we will not compromise.”
