Algeria striker, Islam Slimani, has copped an injury ahead of the Desert Foxes Russia 2018 World Cup qualifying tie against Nigeria.
Slimani was a notable absentee as the Foxes drew 1-1 with Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, but he was believed to be in contention to return for Leicester’s fourth Champions League encounter against FC Copenhagen.
Leicester City manager, Claudio Ranieri, has however said that he is not prepared to risk the fitness of the club’s record signing and the Algerian will sit out the contest as he continues to nurse a groin problem.
Slimani was named in the 18 list of foreign pros for a World Cup qualifying showdown against Nigeria slated for November 12 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Musa has been declared fit by Ranieri after recovering from the knock he sustained at White Hart Lane.
