What Nigerians Need Is Good Governance Not Palliative -Akinrinade
Pioneer Vice Chancellor, Osun State University, Pro. Sola Akinrinade has said what Nigerians need is good governance and not palliatives.
Delivering, Osun State University 12th and 13th convocation Ceremonies in Osogbo on Thursday, the President, Nigeria Academy of Letters said Nigeria is well endowed with resources that guarantee them quality life.
Speaking on the topic, ,’The Universality of the University system: A case for Functional University Education in Nigeria’ Akinrinade advocated functional education that would guarantee self reliance and sustainability and further make impact on the society.
He recommended functional education that will graduate to world class university adding that functionality is prerequisite to elevation to the desired world class status that every university is clamouring to achieve.
Akinrinade insisted that Nigeria Education system should be functional and address the need of the society rather than run after world class university status.
He noted that for the expected output, emergent curriculum should reflect and as much as possible meet national and international expectations.
He charged university administrators to be committed to quality, excellence and integrity
