Ajimobi May Reshuffle Cabinet
Fresh facts have emerged that the Oyo State governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi may reshuffle his cabinet soon.
A source who pleaded for anonymity said the decision of the governor to reduce the number of his aides may not be connected with the forth coming general election.
The source said that it was unsure whether the governor will return some of his aides who have governorship ambitions, adding that ‘real’ party men may be drafted in, as a means of pacifying them.
He said that in the new arrangement, there will be 12 commissioners, while some special advisers, senior special assistants and special assistants may not make it back.
It was gathered that of all the aides of Ajimobi who have governorship ambition, only the health commissioner, Dr. Azeez Adeduntan was said to be leaving no stone unturned in his bid to get the ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The other two, Bimbo Adekanmbi and Ajiboye Omodewu who man the state’s finance and land ministries respectively were said to be in a fix.
“If they dare resign their appointments, that may be the end of their ambition as they will not get to see the governor as they want. In fact, Omodewu has not been bold enough to tell the governor about his ambition,” the source said.
Those who may be reconsidered include; Bimbo Adekanmbi: Finance, Bimbo Kolade: Local Government And Chieftaincy Matters, Taibat Adeyemi: Trade And Commerce, Toye Arulogun: Information, Culture And Tourism.
Others are Ajiboye Omodewu: Lands And Housing, Adeniyi Olowofela: Education, Science And Technology and Azeez.
