AIG Calls On Police Men To Show Greater Commitment To Duty
The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone X1, Adeleye Oyegbade at the weekend commissioned Special Protection Unit (SPU) Base X1 office facilitated by CSP Dayo Akinbisehin in Osogbo with a charge to police personnel to make positive difference.
He charged them to exhibit the core value of commitment, dedication, humility, loyalty and respect for the fundamental human rights of citizenry adding that they should always reflect on areas where there are challenges with the determination to find solutions.
Oyegbade who noted that the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu is eager to reward excellence commended CSP Dayo Akinbisehin for his ingenuity and selfless service that cumulated in building the gigantic building without a dime from either government or police authorities.
In her remarks, Osun State Commissioner of Police Mrs Abiodun Ige described Akinbisehin as a dutiful officer who has always put in his best in service and urged others to emulate this good virtues.
Also speaking, the Commissioner of Police, SPU, Cyril Okoro who awarded Akinbisehin a letter of Commendation in view of his tenacity, hard work and uncommon leadership qualities described the project as a pride to the Nigeria Police Force.
“This magnificent Project we are commissioning today is a pride to the Nigeria Police Force, such that one of our very own through personal sacrifice and perseverance combined with Community Policing and interpersonal relationships with members of the public was able to contribute to the development of the Nigeria Police Force in particular and the Federal Republic of Nigeria in general”.
Earlier, Akinbisehin told the gathering that the dare need of befitting office accommodation for the administrative and operational exigencies of SPU Base X1 Headquarters propelled him to action.
Speaking on the facility, Akinbisehin said: “The SPU Office Base Hqs, Osogbo is a purposefully built Police Special Force Complex for cutting edged VIPs Closed Protection services and Training Ground encapsulating all tactical infrastructure police operational Base which the Nigeria Police Force can always be proud of anyday.
“This SPU Office Base Hqs houses a standard Charge Room with a Detention Cell for correctional purposes of our erring junior personnel deported from the field with Provost Office quite adjacent for easy supervision of Men on duty and those detained.
“Other features are Unit Commanders Office, Base Staff Officers (Batons) office, highly fortified iron casted and explosive proof Armoury, a 50 seated capacity Lecture Hall. The NCOs & Inspectorate Cadre have their own individual offices in addition to well appointed offices for the Admin Office, 2ic Base and Commanding Officer all ensuite”
He appreciated the IGP and AIG Zone X1 for granting him the opportunity to contribute his own quota towards infrastructural development of the Force through their innovative and pragmatic leadership.
