Three Die In Ogun Crash, FRSC Warns Against Speeding
Three persons were confirmed dead on Friday while three others sustained varying degrees of injury in a multiple accident at U-turn, by Total Filling Station, Ogere, on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.
The News Agency of Nigeria reported that the Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Mrs Florence Okpe, confirmed the incident, adding that it occurred around 7.10am.
She said the accident involved a Toyota Hiace bus, marked MN A48 ZY, a Man diesel truck, marked ABC 682 ZW, and a Daf truck with the number plate, T-3756LA.
Okpe attributed the accident to speeding, which resulted in a collision while the diesel truck was making a U-turn.
“A total of eight men were involved in the accident; three sustained injuries, two unhurt and unfortunately three persons on the bus were recorded killed,” she added.
The FRSC public education officer said the injured victims were taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere, while the deceased were deposited in the FOS Morgue, Ipara.
She said the sector commander, Mr Ahmed Umar, commiserated with the families of the victims and urged the motoring public to always drive defensively by anticipating the action of other drivers and observing road signs.
