The Nigeria Football Federation has ordered ABS FC and Gateway FC’s match day 14 be replayed behind close doors on November 9, 2016 in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Raising from its meeting in Abuja on Thursday, the NFF Disciplinary Committee backed the decision with the provisions of article 31b of FIFA Disciplinary Code.
It was ruled that the match be played at the same time and venue as earlier scheduled, with a new set of match officials, just as both clubs shall bear their respective costs.
A stipulated sum of N1 million was however slammed on Gateway FC for failing to honour the fixture obligation.
“Gateway FC is in breach of Rule 4.2(1) of the Rules of the NNL; thus, Gateway FC shall pay the stipulated fine of N1,000,000 (One Million Naira only) to the NNL on or before Tuesday 8th November, 2016,” the communique read.
The committee however advised the Ogun State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Afolabi Afuape, to be of exemplary conduct, as his conduct within and around the technical area is capable of bringing the game to disrepute.
In attendance at the committee’s deliberation were Musa Amadu (Chairman), Prof. Olufemi Adegbola Adegbesan (Vice Chairman), Damon Nandam Dashe (Member), Kelvin C. Omoujine (Member), Adamu Sani Osmond (Member), Onyeachor Chike (Member) and Queen Otarakpo (Ag. Secretary).
