2023: Be Wary Of Your Utterances, Associates, Abiodun Tells Ogun Monarchs

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has sounded a note of warning to traditional rulers in the state to be wary of their utterances and those they associate with as it is capable of causing violent in the state ahead the 2023 general elections.
Abiodun reminded the royal fathers to be cautious of whatever they say or do as such were capable of undermining peace and implicate the political undertone of the state before the forthcoming general elections take place
The governor spoke at the inauguration of the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi as the new chairman of the Council of Obas in the state held at the Obas’ Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the state capital.
He urged the monarch not to allow any politicians to cajole them into actions
saying that whatever they say or do would have implication on political atmosphere of the state
‘Our royal fathers should not allow themselves to be cajole into actions that will bring the traditional institute into disrepute the traditional council should be built on integrity and socio-economic development of the state.
‘As general election for 2023 draws closer it is also important for our traditional rulers to the wary of their utterances and associations .Our kabiyesis must understand that by the virtue of their sacred stools for which they sit whatever it is they say what ever it is they do will very deep meanings and implication on political and socio-economic atmosphere. Our royal fathers should use sacred offices to engender a more peaceful atmosphere for the successful conduct of the year 2023 general elections and the continued development of our dear state.
‘I enjoin all our royal fathers to continue to mobilise all your subjects to participate in the ongoing continuous voters registration exercise by the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, I also enjoined you to educate our people not to allow themselves to be tools in the hands of unscrupulous elements and desperate politicians who want to hold on to the tiniest threat for their political survival or truncate the steady and continued development we have in our dear state.
‘We will not allow anybody to take our propriety for granted or allow anybody to for political class or anywhere to undermine the peace we enjoy in our dear state today. We will not allowed anyone either from within or outside the state to introduce to our system a culture of violent,’ he said.
