MURIC Petitions Oyo Police Over Alleged Murder Of Pa Taiwo Biliaminu
The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), Oyo State Chapter, has formally petitioned the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, demanding a thorough investigation and prosecution of Ojo Akinlabi following his reported arrest in connection with the alleged murder of Pa Biliaminu Taiwo in Fiditi, Afijio Local Government Area of Oyo State, in 2019.
The petition, submitted yesterday, 22 October 2026, has been officially acknowledged by the Commissioner of Police and the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Iyaganku, Ibadan.
Pa Biliaminu Taiwo was hacked to death inside the mosque by the suspect in November, 2019.
MURIC urges the police to ensure a thorough investigation and that justice is served in accordance with the law. We remind the police that murder is not a bailable offence. Care must therefore be taken to ensure that Ojo Akinlabi is not allowed freedom until he is, arraigned before a court of jurisdiction.
It must be noted that the suspect is notorious for violent attacks, particularly stabbing his targets with poisoned knives. Such a dangerous element should not be allowed to breathe the air of freedom. Ojo Akinlabi is a threat to peaceful coexistence and the rule of law.
MURIC remains committed to protecting human rights and ensuring that allegations of criminal conduct receive the appropriate attention of the relevant authorities.
Justice delayed must not become justice denied!
