Sultan Celebrates Nigeria At 66, Sends Message Of Hope
The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has felicitated with Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary, assuring citizens that “Nigeria will be better, Insha Allah.”
The Sultan, in a goodwill message to mark the anniversary, congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Federal and State Governments, traditional rulers, religious leaders and all Nigerians on the historic occasion.
His Eminence urged Nigerians to remain hopeful, patriotic and committed to the peace, unity and progress of the nation, stressing that despite the challenges confronting the country, there is still every reason to believe in Nigeria and work collectively for its greatness.
According to the Sultan, Nigeria is blessed with abundant human and material resources and has the potential to overcome its current difficulties if its citizens and leaders remain committed to justice, peace, good governance, mutual respect and national unity.
He called on Nigerians to continue to pray for the country and support efforts aimed at strengthening peace, security, economic development and social cohesion across the nation.
The Sultan particularly urged political, religious and traditional leaders to place the national interest above personal, ethnic or sectional considerations, noting that the unity and stability of Nigeria remain a collective responsibility.
He also appealed to Nigerians to shun violence, hatred, intolerance and all forms of divisive tendencies, while encouraging citizens to embrace dialogue, understanding and peaceful coexistence.
His Eminence prayed for continued peace and stability in Nigeria, wisdom for the nation’s leaders and prosperity for all Nigerians, expressing optimism that with collective prayers, sincerity of purpose and concerted efforts, “Nigeria will be better, Insha Allah.”
The Sultan wished Nigerians at home and abroad a peaceful and memorable 66th Independence Anniversary.
