U.K. Court Hands Salah Six-month Driving Ban
Former Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah, has been handed a six-month driving ban after failing to provide information identifying the driver of his Rolls-Royce when it was caught speeding in Cheshire.
According to court documents reported by the BBC on Monday, the vehicle was recorded by a speed camera travelling at 36mph in a 30mph zone in Wilmslow, Cheshire, on March 27.
Salah, 34, did not respond to a notice of prosecution brought by Cheshire Constabulary and did not enter a plea to the charge.
A court spokeswoman said Salah was prosecuted at Warrington Combined Court under the Single Justice Procedure, under which magistrates deal with certain cases in private hearings.
He was convicted of “failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of the Rolls-Royce”, according to the court spokeswoman.
Salah was subsequently handed a six-month driving disqualification and ordered to pay £1,044.
The Independent reported that court records showed Salah “failed to inform police who was behind the wheel” when the speed camera recorded the vehicle.
The speeding incident came three days after Salah announced that he would leave Liverpool at the end of the 2025/26 season after nine years with the club.
Announcing his departure on March 24, Liverpool said Salah had “firmly established himself as one of the greatest players in Liverpool’s history”.
Salah scored 257 goals in 442 appearances for Liverpool before transferring to Turkish club Trabzonspor following the 2025/26 season.
The Egyptian has since continued his career in Turkey, where he plays for Trabzonspor.
