Fubara Recognises Asari-Dokubo As Monarch, Presents Staff Of Office
Ijaw youths under the umbrella of Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Worldwide, has hailed King Asari- Dokubo Dabaye Amakiri (I), Amayanabo, Torusarama Piri, Elem Kalabari, on his presentation of staff of office and certificate of recognition as a traditional ruler in Rivers State by Governor Siminalaye Fubara.
IYC noted that as a former President of the Ijaw Youth Council and a leader in the Niger Delta struggle for liberation, the IYC will continue to be proud of Dokubo for standing firm to defend his people and fighting against injustice in Rivers State, Niger Delta, Ijaw, and Nigeria at large.
IYC, in a statement by its Spokesman Amb. Binebai Princewill, described the installation of Dokubo as the Amayanabo of Elem Kalabari (Torusarama Piri) as ” a divine and welcome development for the Ijaws in Rivers State and beyond,” adding that the IYC “have no doubt that our highly revered new traditional ruler will use his wealth of experience, together with other traditional rulers in Rivers State and Nigeria, to negotiate a better deal for his people, the Ijaw nation, and Niger Delta in general.”
Princewill said: “Your legacies as a former President of Council still speak volumes about your proactiveness and achievements in the Ijaw struggle for resource control and self-determination in Nigeria.
“We also extend our congratulatory message to other monarchs in Rivers State who were given staff of office and certificates of recognition on the same day our leader was installed as a traditional ruler in Rivers State. This is a sign of good omen in Rivers State.
“The Ijaw Youth Council commends His Excellency, Siminalaye Fubara, Governor of Rivers State, for presenting the staff of office and certificate of recognition to our father in the struggle, HRH Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, as a traditional ruler in Torusarama Piri, Elem Kalabari, Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State.
“As you continue to transform Rivers State with your excellent and uncommon leadership, be assured that the entire Ijaw nation is behind you and proud of your accomplishments.
