NSA Meets President Déby Of Chad
The President of Chad, Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, on Sunday received a high-level Nigerian delegation led by the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.
The delegation included Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa; Major General Emmanuel Undiandeye, Chief of Defence Intelligence; Major General Ali Salau, Force Commander of the MNJTF; and other senior security officials.
The delegation delivered a written message from Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to President Déby.
In the message, President Tinubu extended his heartfelt condolences and reaffirmed Nigeria’s unwavering support for the Chadian President and people following the recent terrorist attack on Barkaram Island, which resulted in the deaths of several Chadian soldiers.
A statement from the MNJTF stated, “This meeting highlights the strong ties between Chad and Nigeria, particularly in addressing regional security challenges and combating terrorism.”
“Both nations remain committed to strengthening their collaboration to promote peace and stability in the Lake Chad Basin region.”
