NAAE Pushes AI Integration For Nigerian Aviation Sector
Members of the National Association of Air Traffic Engineers, NAAE, have argued for the use of Artificial Intelligence, AI, in the aviation sector, and said the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency, NAMA, would benefit from it if integrated.
Miri also said the current NAMA navigational charges were inadequate to provide needed logistics for the agency’s smooth operations.
He urged the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, to reconsider an increase in the charges of NAMA navigation.
On the association’s forthcoming Annual General Meeting /Conference in Abuja scheduled for November 22, he said it was themed: ‘The Integrations of AI in CNS/ATM Systems and the Economics implications for the aviation Industry: the Roles of ATSEPs’.
He noted that NAAE would continue to build on emerging technologies to ensure that ATSEPs remain abreast with their roles when fully equipped.
While commending the management of NAMA for improved welfare, Miri noted that the association had witnessed stability, training and better welfare for NAAE members, saying that it would have been better but for the 50 per cent revenue deduction by the Federal Government.
