UNIOSUN Warns 233 Matriculating Students Against Negative Vices
Vice Chancellor, Osun State University, (UNIOSUN) Professor Clement Adebooye has warned the 233 newly admitted 2024/2025 academic session part-time degree programme of the institution against any negative vices that could mar the integrity of the university.
Adebooye who gave the warning during the matriculation ceremony held at the Osogbo campus of the institution said any student caught in the vices such as examination malpractice, cultism, or other forms of misconduct would face the full weight of disciplinary action including possible dismissal from the university.
While congratulating the matriculating students, Adebooye maintained that Osun State University upholds the highest standards of discipline, and so expect each of them to adhere strictly to the rules and regulations governing student conduct.
He disclosed that the University now offers a top-up programme that allows holders of Higher National Diplomas (HND) to earn a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in just 24 months, spanning six semester adding that part-time programmes have been meticulously designed to cater to individuals who are keen to balance academic pursuits with personal and professional commitments.
His words: “As part-time students, many of whom are matured individuals juggling multiple responsibilities, I am confident that you will exemplify good behavior and remain focused on your academic goals.
“You have the unique opportunity to venture into entrepreneurship or continue your professional work while pursuing your education. I encourage you to make the most of these opportunities, but never lose sight of the importance of your studies”.
He urged the students to embrace the new chapter opened in their lives with passion, determination, and integrity.
