Obasanjo, Makinde, Ooni, Dangote, Alakija For Adeleke’s Chieftaincy Conferment In Osun
Dignitaries nationwide including, former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja ll, will converge on Ede today (Monday) for the conferment of chieftaincy title of  Asiwaju of Edeland on the governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
The event that will also mark the 64th birthday of Governor Adeleke and appeal fund for construction of palace for Ede will also have in attendance, Chairman, Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote CEO, Bovas Petroleum, Mrs Victoria Samson, business morgul and philanthropist, Mrs Folorunso Alakija amongst others.
Chairman, Central Planning Committee of the ceremony, Senator Lere Oyewumi who disclosed this at a press conference in Ede yesterday said, the Timi of Edeland, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, Laminisa l in collaboration with the Timi in Council will confer the title on Adeleke in appreciation of his contribution to the growth and development of Edeland in particular and Osun State at large.
Recall that the first civilian governor of Osun State who was also an elder brother to the incumbent governor, Alhaji Isiaka Adeleke was the last occupier of the highly prestigious, traditionally important and culturally symbolic title of Asiwaju of Ede until his death in 2017.
“While we rejoice and radiate in the glory of God for being good to our Governor for sparing his life to live to be 64 years and as we pray for more years of fruitful service to God and humanity for him , it gladdens my heart to add that, the programme will also be used to launch a multi million naira appeal fund for an ultra modern palace for the Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, Laminisa I” Oyewumi said.
He appealed to the people of Osun state not to be found wanting in the exhibition of the usual Omoluabi ethos to the teeming dignitaries before, during and after the programme on today.
