Gloves Off: Wizkid, Davido Exchange More Online ‘Blows’

The online battle between musical stars, Ayodeji Balogun, also known as Wizkid, and David Adedeji, a.k.a Davido continued Monday night.

Wizkid had earlier thrown a shade at Davido. While responding to a fan’s request on X for new music, he posted a leaked video of Davido begging who was believed to be a female associate.

The Grammy award-winning singer also dismissed the successful music producer and label owner, Don Jazzy, as an ‘influencer’,

This generated uproar on the micro-blogging platform with many wondering what could be wrong with both men.

However, Davido, on Monday night dropped a series of cryptic tweets believed to be responses to the Ojuelegba crooner.

In one of the tweets, Davido said, “Dem no know your Gbedu”, believed to be aimed at Wizkid who said he would drop his much anticipated Morayo album in May.

Not stopping, the Aiye crooner tweeted, “When light comes, darkness vanishes. Let get active.

Davido also posted a video of his wife, Chioma Adeleke, with the caption, “They were trying to distract us, baby no mind dem”.

Wizkid meanwhile responded with first a dig, tweeting, “U and all ur crew plus ur pant washer songwriter go to sleep at night thinking you got anything on me in music wish u all well ✌️”

He followed it up with another tweet, “U know what..no point. delusional niggas pray for y’all” which was quoted directly with a response, “WE NOT DELUSIONAL YOU’RE A SICK MAN” by Davido suggesting no love lost between both Afrobeat stars.

The Jaiye Jaiye crooner not holding back, quoted the tweet with the same leaked video of Davido.

The rift between both superstars will come as a surprise to many considering they were recently spotted hugging in a Lagos night club.

Before the club meeting, Wizkid had announced in 2023, plans of a joint tour with his rival.

He took to his Instagram story to announce that the expedition would take place after the tour for his fifth studio album ‘More Love, Less Ego (MLLE)’ which was dropped in mid 2023.
