Easter: Babayemi Calls For Religious Tolerance
As Christians around the world celebrate this year’s Easter festival, the factional gubernatorial candidate of the Osun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Omooba Dotun Babayemi, has called for religious harmony and tolerance among adherents.
In his Easter message to the people and made available by his director of media, Kayode Oladeji, Babayemi warned that lack of such understanding, would continue to breed conflicts which could be creating more security challenges in the country.
Babayemi stressed the need for more cooperation among faithful of different religions.
“Regardless of where one belongs to; whether Christianity, Islam or any other religion, we remain brothers and sisters. As the creations of the Almighty, we remain congenially bonded. We all have the latitude to believe in any faith we so desire without any friction” he added
The governorship candidate advised that the import of Easter’s lessons must not be lost, adding that entrenched virtues such as selflessness, sacrifice and humility, must be imbibed for the sake of humanity.
“If we can all imbibe these virtues, then our problems as a people, will be considerably ameliorated. We were never created for ourselves alone, rather we are spared and preserved for the good of others” the Gbongan-born Prince explained
Meanwhile, Babayemi has implored Christians and adherents of other religions to continue to pray for the successful outcome of the coming gubernatorial election in the state, particularly for the victory of the PDP at the polls.
